If science tells us we need to go on vacation we can’t just ignore it.. Here’s nine reasons why you need to book off that time from work now:
Your brain works best when you are relaxed. Studies have shown that when your brain is relaxed, it can focus on essential tasks and has more time to learn and focus. So if you’re struggling with something new at home or at work, a vacation just might be perfect for you. Giving your brain time to process the new information might be exactly what it needs.
There was a study done at Florida State University in which they looked at the performance of elite athletes, musicians and chess players, and found that the best performers practiced in intervals of 90 minutes. They often took breaks between sessions and hardly ever worked more than four and half hours a day.
Working yourself too hard never leads to anything good. Give your body the break it deserves.
Daniel J. Levitin, the director of the Laboratory for Music, Cognition and Expertise at McGill University, told the New York Times that giving our brains time to wind down and think about nothing at all can provide “our moments of greatest creativity and insight.”

This one is kind of obvious, but taking vacations makes you happier in the long-run. They reduces stress, making you happy. There have been studies done to prove that not only are you happy during a vacation, but participants also showed signs of slightly increased happiness for two weeks after they returned from vacation.
It is suggested that instead of one large vacation a year, take two or more short ones if your job allows it.
